Both are zoned hybrid mattresses, but the Elite is the taller, more built-up version, around 15.5 to 16 inches versus roughly 13.5 inches for the Luxe. Elites add a microcoil layer within the pillow top, extra memory foam comfort layers, and an upgraded cooling system. The Luxe delivers most of the same support design at a lower price; the Elite is for sleepers who want the plushest, most pressure-relieving version of each feel.
It mostly comes down to sleep position. The Midnight is a medium-feel mattress designed for side sleepers and couples who want contouring at the shoulders and hips. The Twilight is firm, built to keep back and stomach sleepers' hips level for proper spinal alignment. Combination sleepers usually land on the Midnight, and if you sleep primarily on your stomach, start with the Twilight.
