Our Consumer Return Policy

At Sleep Basil we believe in our product and stand by delivering an amazing night of sleep. That is why we offer a 90 day satisfaction guarantee. We ask that you keep your mattress for at least 30 days as there is a break in period for your mattress as well as an adjustment your body has to go through when changing mattresses and putting your spine in better alignment. If after 30 days and before 90 days you’re not happy with your purchase we ask you provide us three things and we will give you a full refund.

  1. Contact our customer service and let them know you’re unhappy with your purchase
  2. Send pictures showing your mattress does not have any stains and is on a foundation providing proper support for the mattress
  3. Lastly send us a receipt showing you have donated the mattress to one of our recommended entities.

Care Instructions: Like Basil, your mattress is just one ingredient in the recipe for awesome sleep (albeit in our opinion the most important ingredient). In order for your Basil mattress to shine there are a few important things it needs.

  1. A proper foundation for support. Without this support your Basil mattress will not perform properly and it will jeopardize the longevity of your mattress. Your mattress has a ten year warranty. If your mattress is not placed on proper support it would void the warranty if a problem did arise.  (Links to proper support)
  • A frame with a middle support and middle support leg and a box spring or stated foundation box
  • A platform frame with a middle support and middle support leg and slats that are no more than three inches apart.
  1. We recommend you rotate your mattress from head to foot three times a year. Think about it like rotating tires. In time different areas of the bed experience more wear than others. By rotating it keeps your bed wearing more evenly and prolongs the overall life of your mattress.
  2. We also recommend protection for your mattress. A mattress protector or a mattress pad. Our oils and sweat can harm the foams and materials in the mattress, as can spills or accidents. Protecting your mattress with a mattress protector will protect the bed and allow it to perform at its best and last longer. Also, the mattress has a ten year warranty and 90 day money back guarantee if your mattress has any stains it would void the warranty as long as the money back guarantee. (Link to protector options)
  3. Like a great recipe, there is always that ingredient that can either make or break that perfect dish. For mattresses, pillows are that ingredient. Sometimes when changing mattresses, you may need to change your pillow as well. The way the bed contours to your body and supports your shoulders and neck can change the type and height of the pillow that will work best with your particular shoulder depth and type of sleeper you are. You would be surprised how a side sleeper and back sleeper may have completely different needs from their pillow. (Links for pillow options)

What to expect when receiving your mattress. The only surprise we want you to have when receiving your mattress is that it exceeded your expectations. Here are some pro tips so you know exactly what to expect.

  1. Your mattress will come roll packed and in a box. I know, how do you fit such a fancy mattress in a box? We have an amazing machine that can roll pack the densest foams and strongest coils. This allows us to ship directly to your home and across the country. When receiving your mattress you will place the mattress on the bed, open the plastic and your mattress will pop into shape and be ready to sleep on within an hour or two. Sometimes you may need to stretch the corners out, but that’s it, it’s that easy.
  2. Your mattress will feel firmer at first than what it will feel once it’s broken in. We strive to use the highest density foams and the strongest most resilient coils. Because of this it takes some time for these foams and coils to gain their responsiveness. It can take a few weeks to a month for your mattress to reach its full break in. So if it feels a little firmer than you imagined at first  this is normal you will be having the sleep you dreamed of in no time. Pro tip (walking on your bed with your socks a couple minutes for a couple of nights can expedite this process.
  3. Like most new products, a new mattress can have a smell. Think new car, new couch, new carpet. This is normal and is not harmful. Some call it off-gassing but this is actually usually the packaging materials as our foams that aren’t all natural are Certi-Pur which means they are tested to make sure there are no voc’s or harmful materials and nothing harmful being emitted.
